My Love affair with MV Doulos

The UP faculty planned and decided to go in MV Doulos. A floating book fair which is a historical matter and site. Its first departure to a certain place (which I do not know where is it) was on the year 1914, it is two years younger than Titanic. MV Doulos was said to be the most successful international floating book fair. MV Doulos has 16,000 titles of the books they have. The cooks or chefs of MV Doulos serve 1,000 meals everyday to the people living it. So far, MV Doulos had a record of 19 million people visited. So it is really a great pleasure to step on in MV Doulos. Last February13, 2007, that is the day when we went to MV Doulos. My classmates and all UP students were excited happy as what I saw to them but I am not one of those people and why is this so? Actually that was not the first time to I have gone in MV Doulos. I have gone there two weeks before we, the UP staffs and faculty went on there. So I already know what is in MV Doulos. When I was there, I was really bored because I do not usually read book that is not my hobby. Then the time came that we must go, our service was a jeepney. We were there in MV Doulos, we fall in line before we got in through Doulos. Finally, we were in the place where MV Doulos sells affordable books. The place where the books are displayed was divided into different sections according to the category the books belong like the atlas and reference section, children’s story section, and others. All I did was just roaming around in the book place and at the same time looking slightly with the books and scanning also. Some of my classmates decided to go out in the book place may be because they were bored there. We went out and stay for a while then suddenly we had decided to go back again to the book place but it is too late that we did not know that we could not go back anymore there. Some of my classmates did panic; it seems that they were prison to a place where they do not know what they are going to do. Me too , I was also in the panic state and I really wanted to go back to the book place because I had found out that the book place was less boring compare to the outside place of it . But thank God, because a savior came namely Mr. Montejo approached a staff of MV Doulos and asked on that person if we can go to the book place. After a few minutes of a conversation between the two, the staff of MV Doulos and Mr. Montejo had agreed on of something. We went back down and go up again. There was a show held at the second floor of MV Doulos. The program includes such as games, small presentation and video watching. After the show, we went back to the place where the books are but after a few minutes, UP faculty decided to go back to school.
So that is my love with MV Doulos and books but I do not think that you could call it a love affair because I did not enjoy when I am in MV Doulos.

What do stars and sky tell me in life

I know that all people love watching the stars in the night sky. They want to see above something that twinkles. They said that if you look at the stars, all your problems and disappointments will vanish. It feels good to watch the stars and the sky as what people said. People also said that stars and sky tell something in life, in your life, in our lives. They said that stars and sky want us to know something in life. So if you going to study or observe the stars, about its composition, properties or movement towards the other stars and heavenly bodies. As what I always read in the newspaper, there is a section that consists of what we called horoscope. Horoscope is a forecast of one‘s future by stars at birth. Who are involved of this horoscope including astrologers, psychics, fortune tellers, etc? These particular sub-species used the stars of birth of a certain person to forecast his /her future. It may be a sad forecast or happy or it could be all about love, money, work life, etc. The horoscope tells us also about our lucky for this day like our lucky number, lucky color, lucky place or it could also be an unlucky number, place, color, etc. If I’m not mistaken, most of the people believe in the horoscope. Maybe because they found it right all what did the horoscope said for them it cam cause mood change especially if the horoscope said something good or bad. People also want to read the horoscope and follow what is being said especially if it tells something good will happen. But for the others particularly who are Christians they do not believe about this horoscope thing. Christians said that the people who are responsible of this what we called horoscope make /put/add details of what they thought about that certain star. And those details were just made by themselves. But I think people do not know because their mind focuses only on the details of their horoscope especially if it tells well. They cannot help to read their horoscope may be because they want to know what will happen in their lives for that day and either to prepare him / her of what will happen. If you going to ask me if I do believe in the horoscope, my answer will be a big yes even I’m a Christian. For me, nothing will be lose from me if I try it and there are times that I found it right what the entire horoscope said.

When I look at the stars and sky, they want something to tell but I just really do not know. But as the days, weeks, months and years passed by. Things are getting clearer r. Now I know that stars and sky tell that life must go on no matter what happened, what happen and what will happen in our daily life. No matter how difficult and hurtful are the problems and disappointments, we should still go on. You know what? I realize that all those things were true that life must goes on and we should move on from the things happened. We should also look forward to the things will happen and just laugh on your problems. And now I’m more confident to live in this world with the people who love me and I love most.

3-letter dangerous word

What comes into your mind if you hear the word sex? What is your first impression of reaction towards this word? I know it's kind of a rude to talk about this but this word involves not only a popular or particular people but all people is involve of this, is part of this and it is it is human nature so lets face their reality, the reality about sex. As what I always heard, sex is a dangerous word but the definition of the word sex is not saying that it is danger. I don't really have it but thanks to a whole hearted person, the pastor of our church who knows more what is sex really means. He said that the word itself defines not harmful but who makes this word dangerous are the people, they are responsible of making this word dangerous. But how they do that? How they make this word sex dangerous, I asked to the Pastor. And he right away replied that people think that sex can be repeated twice, thrice or even more together with other sex partners because for them it is just okay, its not a big deal and there were some who makes sex as a hobby especially people who are at addict of sex. When I heard those words, those unpleasant words, I really can't imagine this people done all those things. It is really hard to think of all those things done by the people just because of sex.

When I heard all those things, those rude things, and I said to myself that they should be punish, the people who abuses sex, who makes sex as an hobby, etc.Of course we can expect that there are results of doing all those things. One possible result is that sex can lead to a great sin. Maybe, in the other people making sex as a hobby or to have plenty of sex session and also sex partners don't matter. It's not a big deal for them. For them sex is like is just like a game, you need to be the best player of all times but in the eyes of the our Creator, our Almighty God, sex matters a lot because God wants people not to commit sin due to sex. According to the book of God, the bible, sex is a gift of God to the married people so that means sex is sacred. God hates people who treat sex as a game. You can also commit a sin to others due to sex. People who are addict with sex are always looking for a sex partner. Even they don't know much about their sex partners, they still grab the opportunity to get sex with their sex partner. And because of that. Lots of relationship breaks apart, they betrayed their partners in life. Betraying someone is a sin and it really hurts especially to the person who was betrayed. To rape someone is also a big sin. You are against with the law, you opposed it. Nobody wants to be rape so there I s a punishment for that. Some were prison for their entire life and there were also sentenced to die. I know the punishment is unfair for those who will receive it but for those who were victims, they said that people who had sinned deserves the punishment that waits for them. Another result /effect that you can have is a serious illness particularly AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome), HIV (Human Infected Virus) and also STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease). You can all get this illness through sex especially to the people who has sex partner that already tried sex for several times with different sex partners. To have this kind of illness is not easy. There are lots of problems that you can encounter such as financial problem. All those things are done due to sex. Maybe people were tempted to do this; especially a gentleman is beside with each other. It can lead to a miracle a great miracle, sex.

On being taught by a students

Students said that their duties as a student are really exhausted difficult. They need to finish their assignments and projects and study their notes fort he upcoming test or quiz. They need to listen carefully and attentively to the teacher and take down some notes, but did they come to heir mind that the on who taught them has more responsibilities their duties. I think that is the reason why University of the Philippines launched the Know Your School Days activity, where student replaced their teachers and teach their fellow students. The main purpose of this activity is to appreciate what a teacher does to his/her students. Before the time has come for the opening of the Know Yours School Days activity students who are going to be teacher were very busy. Some were preparing for the materials he/she needed for his/her discussion. Some were also writing for visual aides of his /her topic and they were also practicing on how he/she will introduce the topic he/she will going to discuss. Until the most waited moments had come, the launching of the "Know Your School Day activity. The flow of the program started with enthusiastic emcees from the second year student and brief welcome address by the principal. The time has come for introducing the student teachers. Every Bartlett goes upon a stage us always & supports him/her by giving big hands and shouting but not s loud. After the program of the launching of the Know Your School Day activity. I asked myself what would be my feelings on being taught by fellow students? That question was answered when he first period of the class of that day started of course with the student teacher. I can see that the student teachers were tense very tense as if they didn't know what to do. But they had overcome their tense as they started discussing their topic of choice. I know that they had tried their best in teaching. A hundreds of effort gave them to us. And I really appreciate the effort they gave towards us. When it was dismissal time, I saw the student teachers taking a deep breath, as if they were prison for a long time and the turns were discard when they were able to get out of their prison. Again, the student teachers of the next subject were very busy preparing. And then the time has come for the discussions I have noticed that the student teaches of that subject were very prepared, they had really planned what is the flow of the discussion. They had successfully done a good one. S the time passed by all the student teachers were very happy because they had done what should be done for that day. The time has come for the closing of the activity. Student teaches who became teachers were given a certificate of participation of being a teacher just for 2 days. It is also a way of appreciating what the student teachers done.

Well, like the others, I have lots of experienced and great feelings on being taught by fellow students. I was really nervous of my teacher because he/she might ask me to answer his/her question. I also afraid of my teacher because he/she might have hatred with me and he/she might use his/her authority as a teacher to hurt my feelings or to make me embarrass in front of my classmates, any possible thing that he/she wanted me to do. I experienced a chaos class during the discussion of one of my student teachers. As far as I've known, the student teachers of that period have ac conflict with his students. I didn't have so much of comments and reactions. I just thought that the student teachers were the real teachers of ours. Because of this activity, I realized that being a teacher is not an easy job. A hundreds of thousands of effort must be exert. Based on my observations, teaching is like a food, if you don't put any seasonings/additives, the food will be tasteless. So if you don't put your mind, heart and soul the type of teaching you will have is also tasteless.
